Rev. Brad Crawford will be leading our Lenten Study beginning Sunday evening, February 26th at 6 PM.
This year, we will be studying the book “Hard to Dance With the Devil on Your Back” by Ray Buckley.
“The season of Lent is a pilgrimage. It is not undertaken to give up a tiny portion of our excess as if it were a
sacrifice but to exchange our way of seeing ourselves and the world for God’s. It is to recognize the poor, our
neighbor, and the alien differently. It is to wear the ashes and to know the Resurrection. It is to hope and to
believe. It is to say with Jesus, “Nevertheless…” and know that no stone is too big to be moved.”
Books are available from the Church Office for $8.75 each. The office is open weekdays (Mon-Thurs) from
10AM until 2PM. You may also pick up your book on Sunday mornings.

| This Sunday! Ministry Fair at Hawkins FUMC Ministry Fair Sunday, February 19, 2012 11:40 AM in Young Hall Lunch will be served! We are asking all the different ministries of our church to be represented at the fair. (Each Sunday School Class, Missions, Website Design, Chick w/sticks, Methodist Men, Methodist Women, choirs, Ladies’ and Men’s Bible studies, VBC, Music Camp, Acolytes, Ushers, Muggers, Missions, Yard Maintenance Crew, Sound Tech, Altar Design, Youth, Prayer Group, etc.) We will have tables set up in YH for you to decorate, display information about your class, pictures, etc., for everyone to view. We want to let all our members and guests know about the opportunities to serve at Hawkins FUMC. Be thinking about it…since it is a “Ministry Fair,” we will have a “Fair” theme. This event sponsored by your Evangelism Committee |
