Sunday Morning Services: Services
are at 8:15 and 10:30 in the Sanctuary. A variety of music is a long-standing
tradition at Hawkins. In addition to all the special ensembles and small groups,
at 10:30 our choir loft is filled with our inspirational Chancel Choir which
provides us with outstanding worship music. We also have a wonderful choir in
the 8:15 service called the Early Risers. This choir was formed last year and
meets at 8:00 AM each Sunday morning in the choir room. Holy Communion: Communion is served the first Sunday of each month during 8:15 and 10:30 services in the Sanctuary. Communion is also served on Christmas Eve and at the Maundy Thursday service before Easter. Communion is open to everyone including children. You do not have to be a member of our church to take Holy Communion. Special Worship Services: During the course of the year, worship opportunities are available during special times and holidays: All Saints Service, Ash Wednesday Service, Maundy Thursday Service, Easter Services, and Christmas Eve Services. Altar Flowers: Members and visitors have the opportunity to give an altar flowers arrangement each Sunday to beautify our worship area. They may be given as an honorarium or a memorial. Reserve flowers in advance by calling coordinator Susan Jeanes. Audio Tapes: The 10:30 am worship service is recorded on cassette. Copies are available by calling the church office. Becoming a Member: No matter where you are in your personal spiritual journey, membership is open to you at Hawkins FUMC. You may simply respond to the invitation to join the church at the end of any Sunday morning service. You may join Hawkins FUMC by a profession of faith, transfer of membership from another church, or renewal of your vows. You may also join without coming to the front of the church. While not necessary, you may want to discuss your decision to join with the pastor. Members agree to support FUMC and its mission through their prayers, their presence, their gifts, and their service.
